Even though we come from diverse artistic backgrounds, Kali and I have both been influenced by, and appreciate, many of the same artists. We both share a great love of pre-rafaelite art, particularly that of John Waterhouse. We both also share a liking for the vision of Leonardo Da Vinci, and the technical genius of such artists as Beaugareau and Vermeer.
Kali is more of a self-taught, visionary artist. She finds a medium or particular style or way of doing things, and learns everything she can about it, putting as much if not more time into the actual handling of the mediums involved. Thus, the style that we have made our trademark comes naturally to her. I, on the other hand, began a very different artistic path, hoping one day to work in fantasy illustration or the graphic novel or gaming industry. It took more effort for me to learn to 'let go' creatively, even though I had more technical knowledge when it came to working with paints and had pursued traditional art training to a greater degree. In the end, found we could learn from each other to produce a combined artistic vision.
